Faith Like a Child...

Dear Friend,
Will you come to Me with the faith like a child? (Mark 10:14) Imagine a young boy anticipating a fishing adventure with his dad. Someone asks the little boy about his trip; you overhear the exchange…
Do you know where you are going? No, I don’t have to worry about that, my dad knows the way. Do you even know how to fish? Well no, but my dad gave me a book and he told me he will help me with each step when I need it. Where will you sleep? What will you eat? What if you get hungry? My dad has it all planned. We will sleep in a tent. He told me what to pack. We’re gonna eat fish! But if we don’t catch enough, dad has a cooler of food ready. You ask silly questions, I am not going to be alone—I’ll be with my dad!
The boy knows his father loves him and so he rests assured all will be taken care of and any challenges they meet will be only the concern of his father. You may not have an earthly father so trustworthy. Your own father may not have been so kind. Maybe your father wasn’t even there at all. But even if you can’t trust anyone on earth, you can trust your heavenly Father. He knows all about your earthly father and all about the people in your life who have let you down. Your father in heaven has only good gifts and blessings for you. (Matthew 7:11) When you face the challenges of life, He will take care of you. When you are broken, lost, hungry, or afraid—He is with you. (Psalm 34:18) You only need to turn to Him with the faith of a child. There is no other way. (Mark 10:15)
A child freely claims all that his father has for him. Be like that little fisher boy. He is not concerned if their fishing trip results in no fish. He’s just happy to be with his dad and is convinced there is no safer place to be. He is content and secure in his father’s love. Your heavenly father has given you a book to help you, though you do not know the way. (Isaiah 42:16) Your heavenly father takes care of all the details. You only need to put Him first—and all the details will be added to your trip! (Matt. 6:33) Come to Me with the faith of a child? I’ll tell you what to pack. I’ll give you the book. It’ll be a great adventure!
Love, Jesus
